Canoe '09

 

Lake Banook in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia was recently the site of the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships welcoming athletes, coaches and spectators from 75 countries. The Flag Shop wishes to congratulate everyone for their world class efforts, both athletes and volunteers. Canoe ' 09 was a tremendous success and we were proud to play our small part in welcoming the world.

Photos are thanks to Natasha Bowlby, volunteer for Canoe' 09 . Natasha is the daughter of Eileen, a proud Bosom Buddie on her Dragon Boat team and delightful customer.

CSS ACADIA, berthed at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, proudly flies her custom sewn signal flag lines on Natal Day 2008. The Acadia is a much-loved ship on the Halifax waterfront with a unique history including over 50 years of service to the Canadian  Hydrographic service plus service as HMCS ACADIA in both World Wars. Social Studies at Prince Arthur Junior High School


The classroom of Basil Rose, teacher of Social Studies at Prince Arthur Junior High School in Dartmouth is like a mini United Nations. Mr. Rose is an avid flag collector, using them to enhance his lectures as well as his classroom decor. Each flag has it's own unique history which can only add to the study and understanding of the country. Bravo Mr. Rose for this wonderful presentation.



Nova Scotia In Water Boat Show
 
The Flag Shop Nova Scotia was proud to be the supplier of flags and poles for the *Nova Scotia In Water Boat Show* which was held at the *Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival* on the Natal day weekend. We salute the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association and all those dedicated to the Maritime's finest boat building traditions.



This collage of photos comes from the Graduation Ceremony of the MILITARY TRAINING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME which took place at Camp Aldershot, Nova Scotia. The Directorate's mandate is to be " a key instrument of defence diplomacy that advances Canada's contribution to international peace and security......(their) training programs expand and reinforce Canada's bilateral defence relations and promote its national profile on the world stage". The Flag Shop is proud to be a supplier for MTAP's flag requirements.


COLLEGE OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC QATAR - It's Graduation Day at the Duhail Campus of the College of the North Atlantic - Qatar and the flags are flying proudly. The Flag Shop Nova Scotia extends its congratulations to each and every graduate. Whether your flag requirements are near or far, The Flag Shop can assist you with your special projects.


 

MILLENNIUM FLAG PROJECT - A Celebration of Community and Identity. Each flag on this structure was designed by a different Nova Scotia community . Many of the flags were designed by children and each one was faithfully reproduced at the Flag Shop in Dartmouth. Call us for a quote on your unique design.


 

In October/06, Halifax Regional Municipality bestowed upon their nineteen Air, Sea and Army Cadet units the unique honour of Freedom of the City. According to Marlant HQ , more than 1100 youth are receiving practical experience in leadership, citizenship and physical fitness through their participation in the Canadian Cadet organization.
The Flag Shop Nova Scotia salutes these youth and congratulates them on their individual accomplishments.


 

Photographer Dean Casavechia had the distinct privilege of being the official photographer for President Bill Clinton's visit to Halifax in July 2006 with the responsibility of photographing the President with numerous local officials and business groups. The FLAG SHOP Nova Scotia was proud to provide the Canadian and American flags and poles.
